2nd October 2026 - Norge Rundt 50th Anniversary
Since its launch on 2 October 1976, NRK’s (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) Norge Rundt has been a regular and beloved television programme in Norwegian homes.
It was created to showcase small, everyday stories that did not fit the news format of the daily evening news programme, but offered unique glimpses into life across the country. Regional NRK offices produce and present the reports, while the broadcasts are assembled in Bergen.
Over 50 years, the programme has produced around 12,000 reports and met more than 150,000 people – enthusiasts, collectors, craftsmen, pet owners, and inventors. The diversity of Norwegian daily life shines through features on art, cooking, quirky hobbies, and humorous moments. Its popularity has remained steady, and today Norge Rundt stands as a vital piece of living cultural history, inviting viewers each week on a warm and nostalgic journey through Norway.
